An exciting new grandstand shade project for the Ormeau Junior Rugby League Football Club (JRLFC) will be going ahead thanks to a generous Turnbull Government Stronger Communities grant.
Federal Member for Forde Bert van Manen MP said Ormeau Junior RLFC would receive $13,182 under Round 2 of the Stronger Communities Program.
“Brien Harris Oval is the home ground for this local club, and I am very pleased we are able to provide funding to improve their facilities,” Mr van Manen said.
“The Stronger Communities grant will be used to install some much needed shade over their grandstand.
“The Club has more than 500 members and is growing every season, so this grandstand shade project will be a great benefit for spectators, families and friends of the club.”
Mr van Manen said the Australian Government’s Stronger Communities Program was driving improvements across the Forde region.
“The Stronger Communities grant is part of the Coalition Government’s $45 million Stronger Communities Programme,” Mr van Manen said.
“The programme has delivered $150,000 per year over the past two years to Forde (2015-2016).
“Projects awarded funding must deliver social benefits to the community and contribute to our community’s long term vibrancy and viability.”
