Young people in Bethania will be better supported thanks to a Turnbull Government Stronger Communities grant.
Federal Member for Forde Bert van Manen MP said the Bethania Youth Drop-in Centre had been successful under Round 2 of the Stronger Communities Program, and would receive a $5047 grant.
“The Youth Drop in Centre is located at the Bethania Community Centre which is a fantastic local facility,” Mr van Manen said.
“This funding will be used to purchase much needed equipment at the Youth Drop-in Centre, including a projector and possibly a coffee machine.
“It is important our young people have a space in their local community where they can seek support, make friends, or just have a place they feel welcome.”
Mr van Manen said the Youth Drop in Centre was run by The Shed Family, an organisation that provides a safe environment for all.
“Every Sunday they provide plenty of fun for young people with music, food and plenty of activities,” Mr van Manen said.

The Stronger Communities grant is part of the Coalition Government’s $45 million Stronger Communities Program.
The program has delivered $150,000 per year over the past two years to Forde (2015-2016).
“Projects awarded funding must deliver social benefits to the community and contribute to our community’s long term vibrancy and viability,” Mr van Manen said.
