BERT’S PLEDGE TO MAKE FORDE STREETS SAFER
Liberal National Member for Forde, Bert van Manen, has announced that an elected Coalition Government will invest nearly a million dollars towards crime prevention measures to help make the streets of Forde safer.
$960,000 will be invested across Forde to provide new CCTV security cameras in Beenleigh, Waterford West, Loganlea and Pioneer Park in Shailer Park.
“The funding comes on top of the $3 million we have already pledged for the Beenleigh Town Centre upgrade.
“Over the past three years, I have been working closely with Logan Mayor, Pam Parker, and the local community on new crime prevention measures for Forde and am very pleased to announce this significant Coalition commitment.” Mr van Manen said.
Logan Mayor Pam Parker welcomed the funding. “I’m pleased Bert has been working with Council on this great Safe City Initiative and I thank him for following through with his promise for action.” Ms Parker said.
Mr van Manen said over half a million dollars will go towards security cameras for the Beenleigh CBD, and nearly a quarter of a million dollars to Loganlea.
“This will improve safety for people making their way around the Loganlea precinct, the Logan Hospital and the Logan TAFE campus.”
“Over the past 12 months constituents were invited to participate in a number of local surveys about improving safety around their neighbourhoods.”
“An overwhelming number of respondents said they would like to see an increase in CCTV security cameras in Forde.”
“As a real Forde local, I will continue to work closely with the people in my electorate to improve our community, as well as delivering more jobs and easing cost of living pressures.
