COALITION DELIVERING FOR FORDE
Liberal National Member for Forde, Bert van Manen MP, today spent the morning in Beenleigh talking with local businesses with the Shadow Treasurer, The Hon. Joe Hockey MP.
Abolishing Labor’s carbon tax and cracking down on local crime were key issues of concern for businesses in Forde.
Mr Hockey and Mr Van Manen visited the national head quarters for Peer Industries, a leading Australian steel wall and ceiling system manufacturer in Beenleigh, who said they have been hit hard by the slump in business confidence.
“This Government has not been good for business confidence – “I am concerned about the Future of Australian manufacturing plants due to non-profitability, excessive red tape and the carbon tax,” said the Director of Peer Industries, Mr Ray Appleton.
Mr Hockey said that Australian businesses had been hit hard by the Rudd/Gillard Government.
Consumer and business confidence has slumped, but the only solution from Labor is more taxes.
“With 43 new or increased taxes under Labor we need to bring back certainty and predictability for business and that’s why we have pledged to abolish the carbon tax.” Mr Hockey said.
Mr Van Manen said he was also providing real action to address concerns about local crime and community safety.
“An elected Coalition Government will invest nearly $1 million to make Forde safer and this investment will reassure local businesses that they can operate in a safe and secure community.”
The Coalition is listening and we have acted when it comes to delivering real solutions to the issues concerning businesses and families in Forde.
As a real Forde local, I have a local plan to provide the positive change only a Coalition government can provide.
