This week Bert’s office took part in the Quest Newspapers Foodbank drive, ahead of other planned volunteer work to help out those less fortunate this Christmas.
“This is a time where people need as much help as they can get and the Foodbank drive has inspired everyone in the office to reach into their pocket’s or their pantry to support those in need’ said Bert van Manen.
“As a Family we actively support a variety of local community organisations that provide food and other necessities to needy families.”
In addition to monetary gifts, Bert said there are many other ways people in the community could help out other people in need without having to spend a cent.
“For example, do you know someone who is going to be spending this time of year on their own?”
“If everyone did one thing for another person this Christmas, it would certainly make Christmas more enjoyable for all people living within the Forde Community.”
Locals have until Wednesday to bring items into the office for the Foodbank appeal.
