Federal Member for Forde Bert van Manen confirmed the club was one of several successful applicants in Round Three of the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Programme.
“I’m thrilled Park Ridge Pirates was one of our very deserving recipients of the Stronger Communities Programme in Forde,” Mr van Manen said.
“The club provides great opportunities for young people and has continued to flourish in recent years.
“I hope this support helps them expand even further.”
Park Ridge Pirates president Andy Colenso said the club would spend the grant money on a revamp of its clubhouse, as well as purchasing new storage cages for equipment.
“The building conversion will give the club the opportunity to sell refreshments and have a place to gather the community that utilises the club’s facilities,” Mr Colenso said.
Mr Colenso thanked the Australian Government for its support.
Round Three of the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Programme is currently rolling out in Forde.
