Forde residents driving on the M1 would have noticed Stage 1 of the M1 Pacific Motorway upgrades (M1/M3/Gateway Merge) are now complete with all southbound lanes open and speed limits lifted.
I fought to secure $115 million dollars for this upgrade which was delivered ahead of schedule earlier this year. Now we are getting on with the job and starting work on Stage 2 Eight Mile Plains to Daisy Hill.
This is a massive project and I ask residents for their patience during this time as we work towards fixing the M1 to get you home sooner and safer.
The $750 million dollar project will reduce travel time and congestion, improve safety, and increase traffic flow and importantly, create over 720 jobs over the life of the project with many more indirect jobs being created.
During a recent site visit I was able to witness the terrific work of our local tradies who are working hard each and every day to deliver this project so we have a better M1.
