The ‘Ditto in a Box Education Pack’ was developed to extend the popular ‘Ditto Child Safety Show’ which recently reached its 250,000th child.
Bert said according to Bravehearts, research shows that 1 in 5 children (59,000 per year) will be sexually assaulted before their 18th Birthday.
“Bravehearts have been doing a fantastic job getting Ditto around to Australian schools and childcare centres in an effort to make Australia the safest place in the world to raise a child,” said Mr van Manen.
“There is only one Ditto though and this has meant that some children have missed out on this vital service which teaches children about personal safety in a non-confronting and safe environment.”
“It sparked the idea of putting Ditto into a box, a box with five teaching modules on safety as well as warning signs, scenario cards, music, storybooks and Ditto’s Keep Safe Adventure CD Rom.”
There is an introductory special price of $99 to purchase one of the kits from Bravehearts.
Bert van Manen encourages local schools and childcare centres in the electorate to consider investing in the resource kit.
Bert has a ‘Ditto in a Box Education Pack’ at his office at 4/96 George Street, Beenleigh for anyone who would like a preview of the pack’s content.
