Everyone deserves a merry Christmas and that’s why Federal Member for Forde, Bert van Manen is urging the local community to get behind the Quest Community Newspapers group and Retail First shopping centres to raise 10 tonnes of food for 5000 people in the next six weeks.
Alarmingly many families are living on or below the poverty line. As a result the demand for assistance from the Foodbank and other welfare support organisations has increased and will continue to increase as we head into the festive season.
Toiletries and non-perishable goods are urgently needed to ensure struggling families, seniors and individuals are able to enjoy the festive season.
If you can help, donations can be placed inside metal cages at Retail First shopping centres including Logan Central Plaza.
