Today we celebrate International Women’s Day. Let’s take a moment to acknowledge the amazing woman who better our lives! Pictured here are some of the female Coalition Members and Senators who I am proud to work alongside each and everyday.
Fantastic to launch the Parliamentary Friends of Motorsport this morning, with Co-Chair, Luke Gosling MP. Thanks to Supercar legend, Mark Skaife, Yatala-based Matt Stone Racing’s own, Cameron Hill, & Australian Rally Champ, Lewis Bates, for joining us.
It’s not the weekend without a touch of footy! I headed down to watch the Mustangs Brothers Men’s Senior Rugby League and Ormeau Football Club. A great round of sport, right here in our region.
I spent some time with Councillor Tony Hall – Representing the people of Division 6 Logan City and Councillor Mindy Russell on Saturday Morning checking out the plans for the upcoming Loganlea Road Major Upgrade. It was good to see the plans taking shape.
I was fortunate enough to be invited to attend the Rotary Club of Beenleigh‘s 70th Birthday Celebrations on Friday Night, hearing about their fantastic achievements during the last seven decades from Former President – John Mulraney and Current President – Janee Hong . Bring on the next 70 years!
Yesterday was Clean Up Australia Day, so I headed down to a few of the clean up events happening at Brookhaven and Eagleby Wetlands.
I was delighted to accept an invitation by the UCSC Business Guild to attend the Upper Coomera State College Sunrise Breakfast this morning hosted by the Year 11 and 12 Hospitality Students. It was also great to catch-up with the Year 12 Leaders of Upper Coomera State College, chatting about the year ahead.
Back out in the community this morning having a chat with Andrew and the team from Balance Martial Arts. They have recently established a new training centre in Logan, providing services to differently-abled, disadvantaged and at risk youth. Their programs help to develop self-confidence and improve life skills. Well Done Andrew!
I took some time to attend the QATSIF Round 14 New Recipients’ and Student Leaders’ Celebrations this morning at Griffith University Logan. QATSIF is supporting around 4000 students with their Year 11 & 12 Education through scholarships. A big shout out to Timothy Avery (Event MC) and all recipients from Beenleigh State High School &…
