The Coalition Government is delivering on its election commitment to scrap the carbon tax.
When the carbon tax is gone, households in Forde will be around $550 better off in 2014″15 than they would have been with the carbon tax in place.
– The Coalition Government has released the Carbon Tax Repeal Bills for public consultation. Submissions must be lodged by 5PM (AEDT) Monday 4th November 2013
“During the 2010 campaign, Julia Gillard promised there would be no carbon tax under a Government she lead, during the 2013 campaign Kevin Rudd declared he had terminated the carbon tax, both declarations were untrue.”
“The people of Forde do not want a carbon tax.”
Every day the Labor Party opposes the repeal of the carbon tax is another day they continue to stand for higher power prices for households and families.
The repeal bills will remove the carbon tax, end the carbon tax on fuels used in shipping, rail and air transport and on synthetic greenhouse gases.
“The Coalition Government will deliver on its promise to the Australian people and will introduce the repeal bills as the first item of parliamentary business”, said Mr van Manen.
