At a meeting yesterday afternoon the Mayor, Pam Parker shared her vision for a revitalised Beenleigh Town Centre with the Shadow Minister for Tourism and Regional Development, the Hon. Bob Baldwin MP.
Mr Baldwin was invited to Beenleigh by Bert van Manen MP, in an effort to gain support for the project from his coalition colleagues.
“I have invited Mr Baldwin here today to show him the potential we have here to create a space that will provide a much needed boost for the local community.”
“There is so much potential for Beenleigh to be a city centre that thrives as a business destination as well as a place for young professionals to reside,” said Mr van Manen.
Mr van Manen said the local business community was 100% behind the project.
“Members of the Business community often chose Beenleigh as the place to base their business as they are easily able to service the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Ipswich.”
“The redevelopment will attract more local business, resulting in job opportunities for local people as well as those who would commute from the Gold Coast or Brisbane,” he said.
Mr van Manen said the Mayor displayed a lot of passion for the renewal plan and did a fantastic job promoting the benefits of the project at the meeting with Mr Baldwin.
“I was very impressed with what I learned today about the project, and about Logan more generally,” said Mr Baldwin.
