Parents and school communities can access an online school funding estimator for information about the impact the Turnbull Government’s new funding arrangements for their schools from 2018.
Federal Member for Forde Bert van Manen MP said the Government was investing record and growing funding into Australia’s schools.
“We are ensuring that extra funding is needs based and focused on supporting schools and teachers to help every student achieve their individual potential, including more one-on-one student support, specialist teachers and targeted intervention programs,” Mr van Manen said.
“The Turnbull Government’s needs-based funding reforms were endorsed by David Gonski himself.
“Funding is growing by more than $1 billion each year and we’re ensuring students with the greatest needs, get the greatest support to help them succeed.”
Mr van Manen said The Department of Education and Training had released an updated schools funding estimator to provide parents and school communities with information on how the new funding arrangements will impact their school.
“While there has been a lot of misinformation being spread by some special interest groups about our Gonski schools funding plan, families and schools can see exactly how they stand to benefit from our plan for themselves,” Mr van Manen said.
