Park Ridge Panthers Soccer Club is set to benefit from Government funding for a new solar electricity system under the Solar Communities Program.
Local Federal MP Bert van Manen said the program, which was one of the Coalition’s 2016 election commitments providing $5 million to selected regions across Australia, had helped deliver lower electricity costs for community organisations while reducing their emissions.
“The Solar Communities program provides funding for community groups in selected regions across Australia to install rooftop solar PV, solar hot water and solar-connected battery systems,” Mr van Manen said.
“The funding has already helped several local organisations that provide invaluable services to their local communities go solar, reduce their power bills and emissions, and take advantage of cutting edge battery storage technology.”
“This is a great initiative that has saved these important community groups money and allowed them to continue to serve our local community.”
Park Ridge Panthers President Mick Griffin welcomed the funding saying it would greatly benefit the club’s bottom line.
