Logan Village Scout group will be upgrading their lighting and improving safety around their equipment shed thanks to a $1000 donation from Federal Member for Forde, Bert van Manen MP.
Mr van Manen visited the scouts on Thursday night (May 26) to present the cheque for $1000.
“Every year I host a Seniors Expo that raises a little bit of money through various sponsors,” Mr van Manen said.
“It is a pleasure to be able to give that back to the community.
“Logan Village Scouts have around 40 members and they desperately need some lighting around their equipment shed.
“By the time scouts finish up their weeknight club meetings it’s usually around 9.30pm and it’s quite dark, so these new lights will provide some security and safety for parents and kids.”
