Bill Shorten is offering nothing to support older Australians.
In comparison, the Coalition Government has delivered a record $5 billion Budget boost.
Under the Coalition, every year home care packages are up, residential aged care places are up and aged care funding is up.
We are delivering an additional:
- 20,000 home care packages
- 13,500 residential places (see table)
- The largest ever single increase to mental health funding for older Australians
Under the Coalition’s comprehensive and fully funded aged care plan, the number of high-level home care packages will rise by 86 per cent to 74,000 over the next five years.
The Coalition Government is fixing Labor’s home care mess, providing transparency and delivering significant long term reforms to support older Australians.
Federal Member for Forde Bert van Manen MP said the investment in aged care announced in the Budget last week delivered the biggest reforms for aged care in years.
“I’m pleased to be a part of a Government that considers older Australians a top priority, and I am proud that in the 2018-19 Budget we were able to deliver for older residents in Forde,” Mr van Manen said.
The Coalition Government will continue to deliver real support for the older Australians who built this nation.
The greatest risk to older Australians would be a Labor government.
