The Turnbull Government continues to meet its commitment of helping more people into work with the milestone of one million placements under the jobactive employment program reached today.
The jobactive program connects job seekers with employers and is delivered by a network of jobactive providers in more than 1700 locations across Australia.
Jobs growth in 2017 was the best year on record and that growth is continuing into this year with the number of jobs in Australia increasing for the 17th straight month in February — the longest consecutive run of jobs growth ever.
These record jobs growth figures show the Turnbull Government is delivering on its promise to create the right economic settings for job creation, and the jobactive program is helping unemployed people get into one of those job opportunities.
Federal Member for Forde Bert van Manen MP said today’s milestone was clear evidence the Government’s employment policies were working for Forde with 9403 local placements.
“Reaching one million job placements under jobactive shows we are succeeding in our goal to get more Australians than ever before into work,” Mr van Manen said.
“The jobactive program is making a real difference to the lives of many people in Logan by helping them get a foot in the door and back into work.
“I encourage any business in Logan and the Northern Gold Coast who are not registered with a jobactive provider to go and see them, to find out how they can get the right employee for their business and give someone an opportunity.”
Minister for Jobs and Innovation Senator Michaelia Cash said reaching one million job placements under jobactive showed our Government was succeeding in our goal to get more Australians into work than ever before.
“Getting a job changes people’s lives – the jobactive program is making a real difference for many Australians,” Minister Cash said.
“Jobactive is also working well for Australian businesses looking to hire more staff.
“The best form of welfare is a job and I look forward to more great outcomes for Australians as a result of jobactive and our other employment programs.”
