The Park Ridge Community Connect Centre has received $6743 through the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Programme, which is now rolling out in Forde.
Federal Member for Forde Bert van Manen praised the work being done at the facility.
“The team at the community centre do a great job as a central hub for Park Ridge residents,” Mr van Manen said.
“They have taken it upon themselves to be an information hub for the community, connecting them with local services, facilities and programs to improve engagement and participation in our region.
“I’m thrilled we as a Federal Government have been able to support that effort in such a meaningful way, just in time for Christmas.”
Centre director Paul Jackson said the funding would help the centre improve its services.
“The fit out for our town centre facility will allow community members to get connected and ensure if they have any need that they can be directed to the right service,” he said.
“This is our contribution to building stronger communities.”
