Local youth will soon have a new place to call their own thanks to a grant from the Federal Government.

Federal Member for Forde Bert van Manen has delivered $20,000 to CentroCare through Round Three of the Stronger Communities Programme.
The funds will go towards a new Youth Shed to facilitate the organisation’s growing youth group programs.
CentroCare leaders Mark and Cindy Kujawa said the currently the centre’s youth activities were attracting about 55 young people per week but had to be held at various community or school spaces.
“This will give the program and its coordinators the opportunity to encourage greater participation from the local youth demographic and a space that can facilitate programs every day of the week,” Mr Kujawa said.
“It would have been impossible without it (the grant), it would have taken us so much longer to help the community in this way,” Ms Kujawa said.
“Thanks to Bert and all who have supported us in this process, we are looking forward to being able to serve in an even greater capacity.”
Mr van Manen said the Stronger Communities Programme was about increasing the vibrancy and vitality of local community groups.
“CentroCare as an organisation provides a wonderful and important local service,” Mr van Manen said.
“I am thrilled to have been able to support them in this way.”
The shed will be constructed at CentroCare’s new venue, which is to be announced in the new year.
