Logan River Redlands Trail Riding Club will be giving the Chambers Flat Equestrian Grounds some much needed TLC after receiving an $18,812 Stronger Communities grant.
Federal Member for Forde Bert van Manen MP said after visiting the club earlier this year, he encouraged the committee to apply for a Stronger Communities grant.
“The Chambers Flat club desperately needed some work done,” Mr van Manen said.
“I am so pleased the club has received this grant, which will help them repair some fences and upgrade their canteen.
“The facility is well used by different equestrian groups, with families often enjoying a weekend at the grounds to play archery and other games, or train for polo and other competitions.”
The Stronger Communities grant is part of the Coalition Government’s $45 million Stronger Communities Programme.
The programme has delivered $150,000 per year over the past two years to Forde (2015-2016).
“Projects awarded funding must deliver social benefits to the community and contribute to our community’s long term vibrancy and viability,” Mr van Manen said.
