See who else is STRONGER thanks to our grant program!>>>
The grant has been delivered as part of the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Programme, designed to assist organisations actively working to support social needs.
Twin Rivers Community Care Senior Leader Reuben Roos said the funding would help the centre reach its potential.
“Twin Rivers currently runs programs to feed homeless and the demographic in need within the community,” Mr Roos said.
“The grant will go towards the kitchen fit out that will benefit countless members of the community and also assist with providing affordable meals to many more.”
Mr van Manen thanked the centre for the great work already being done.
“The Twin Rivers Centre runs fantastic programs aimed not only at serving those in need but also empowering them,” Mr van Manen said.
“It was my pleasure during the earlier part of this funding round to also deliver the funding needed to equip the centre’s jobseeker service.
“More great work will follow the proper fit out of this kitchen, such as the cooking class already being run here.
“Congratulations again to Twin Rivers, they are truly deserving of this support.”
