Logan Uniting Church Football Club will be able to train and play in the one facility with a lighting upgrade planned for their fields at Calvary Christian College.
Federal Member for Forde Bert van Manen MP said the football club had received $16,993 under Round 2 of the Stronger Communities Programme.
“This Stronger Communities grant will be used to install lighting on their soccer fields,” Mr van Manen said.
“At the moment, teams are training and playing on different fields around Logan every week, which can be frustrating for families who have to commute all over town, especially those who have several children playing in different teams.
“This new lighting will be installed during the off-season and ready to light up the Calvary Christian College fields for the 2017 football season.”
Mr van Manen said the club was looking forward to being able to train at night at the same location.
“This is a great outcome for the school and the Logan Uniting Church Football Club.”
The Stronger Communities grant is part of the Coalition Government’s $45 million Stronger Communities Programme.
The programme has delivered $150,000 per year over the past two years to Forde (2015-2016).
“Projects awarded funding must deliver social benefits to the community and contribute to our community’s long term vibrancy and viability,” Mr van Manen said.
