Logan Lightning Football Club has received a $17,000 Stronger Communities grant to renovate the interior of the clubhouse.
Federal Member for Forde Bert van Manen MP said the grant was awarded under Round 2 of the Stronger Communities Programme.
“Logan Lightning FC will use this funding to renovate the interior of the clubhouse with new carpet, blinds, fresh paint and more,” Mr van Manen said.
“Their aim is to renovate the interior so the clubhouse can be hired out for functions.”
Mr van Manen said he was passionate about supporting local sporting clubs.
“Sporting clubs play a tremendous role in shaping our community and providing a place where people come together to share a common passion,” Mr van Manen said.
“Logan Lightning FC is part of the heart and soul of Logan’s sporting community and as our region continues to grow, our community facilities need to grow with them.”
The Stronger Communities grant is part of the Coalition Government’s $45 million Stronger Communities Programme.
The programme has delivered $150,000 per year over the past two years to Forde (2015-2016).
“Projects awarded funding must deliver social benefits to the community and contribute to our community’s long term vibrancy and viability,” Mr van Manen said.
